CLASSES and ATTIRE
At On Stage Dance Academy we offer dance classes in Glendale, Arizona for toddlers, kids, teens, and adults.
Creative Movement (Ages 2–3)
An introduction to the basics of dance and music, this class helps young children explore movement, rhythm, counting, and classroom structure while learning to share space and follow direction.
Attire:
- Pink dance clothes; socks or bare feet.
Combo Classes (Ballet/Tap or Tumbling/Hip Hop) (Ages 3–5)
Designed to support early development, these classes teach depth perception, coordination, and basic dance fundamentals in a fun and positive setting.
Attire:
- Ballet/Tap: Pink leotard, pink tights (seasonal), pink skirt, pink or black ballet shoes, black tap shoes.
- Tumbling/Hip Hop: Comfortable dancewear; gym shoes or jazz shoes.
Ballet & Pointe (Ages 5–Adult)
Ballet is the foundation of all dance forms, enhancing posture, strength, and grace. Classes are available for all levels. Pre-pointe and pointe placement is by teacher recommendation.
Attire:
- Ballet (Pre-Cecchetti) - Pink leotard, pink tights, pink skirt, pink or black ballet shoes.
- Ballet (Cecchetti/Russian) - Black leotard, pink tights, black skirt, pink or black ballet shoes.
Jazz (Ages 5–Adult)
An expressive and high-energy class incorporating various jazz styles with a focus on creativity, technique, and performance.
Attire:
- Dance leotard (any color), jazz pants or shorts, black jazz shoes.
Hip Hop (Ages 5–Adult)
A dynamic, upbeat class that explores popular hip hop techniques and individual style in a fun, high-energy setting.
Attire:
- Comfortable dancewear; gym shoes or jazz shoes.
Tap (Ages 5–Adult)
Tap classes focus on rhythm, technique, terminology, and performance.
Attire:
- Dance leotard (any color), jazz pants or shorts, low-heeled tap shoes. (For dancers under age 7, use elastic instead of laces.)
Tumbling & Acro (Ages 4–Adult)
Perfect for those wanting to build strength, flexibility, and acrobatic skills. Tumbling develops control and coordination, while Acro focuses on fluidity and strength.
Attire:
- Comfortable dancewear; socks or bare feet.
Lyrical & Contemporary (Ages 6–Adult, All Levels)
Lyrical combines the grace of ballet with the strength of jazz, emphasizing emotion and storytelling. Contemporary blends multiple styles into expressive, innovative movement.
Attire:
- Lyrical dress or leotard with shorts, stirrup or footless tights, half soles or “Foot Undeez”.
Stretch, Leaps & Turns (Ages 8–Adult)
Designed to improve flexibility, jump height, and turning technique. This is a great supplement to other dance classes.
Attire:
- Comfortable dancewear; gym or jazz shoes.
